One of the memorable bikes I owned in the 80's was a 1984 Ninja 900. My regular ride back then was a 79 GL1000 and 76 Honda CB750K which took me all around America but the first ride on a 1984 Ninja 900 was truly amazying. I bought the bike used with 800 miles and the mc had the stock bridgestones on it. The only think i could say it was truly a different motorcycle and I remember it was like driving on a rail compared to all the previous motorcycles I had rode and owned. The bike loved a straight line but I set of Perrelli sport tires loosened the girl right up. Loved that bike even after I bought a big heavy Ninja 1000, then the FZ1000 and the CBRr600. Lucky for me, in 1985 I had bought the local repair shop in Huntington Station, NY -Ryde Motorcycles and as it grew, I made it a point to test drive every popular bike from the 70's, 80's and 90's. Now that was fun and I was getting paid!!! Kenster

Riding the Roads of Long Island, NY
-

I have lived on long Island since the 70's and love the winding roads of the north shore. I can't tell you how many times I rode down Rhododendron Drive or along River Road in the Smithown / Stonybrook area. It would be interesting to find out some other favorite roads and stops people enjoy on Long Island? Kenster
